Install EPDF on Windows

Install EPDF so it appears on this computer, opens in its own window, and can edit a local PDF offline after it has opened once while online.

When you edit PDFs locally, the document stays on your device unless you choose an online feature that requires upload.

Recommended — install from EPDF

  1. Open EPDF in Microsoft Edge or Chrome.
  2. Click Install EPDF.
  3. Confirm Install in the browser dialog.
  4. EPDF opens as its own app.
  5. Optional: pin it to the taskbar or Start.

If the Install button is not shown

Use the browser’s own install control. Labels can change between browser versions.

Microsoft Edge: look for the app/install control in the address bar. On this machine Edge names it “App available. Install EPDF”. You can also open the browser menu, then Apps, then install this site as an app.

Chrome: use the install control in the address bar or the browser menu for installable apps.

After installation

EPDF appears in Windows Start and as an installed app. It opens in its own window, not as an ordinary browser tab. After EPDF has opened once while online, you can open a PDF from your computer and keep editing locally if the Internet drops. Account, payments, licence refresh, and other online-only features come back when you reconnect. They do not replace the PDF you already have open.

Edge may show its own “App installed” notice and mention the Start menu, taskbar, or Desktop. That is the browser, not a second EPDF product.

Installation is not a purchase. Paid features still follow your account. Saving back to the original file is only offered when the browser allows it; otherwise EPDF downloads a copy and says so.

Uninstall

In Edge, open Apps and uninstall EPDF. In Chrome, use the installed-app list. You can also remove it from Windows Settings → Apps, like other installed apps.

Microsoft Store

A later release may also offer EPDF through the Microsoft Store. That is a future install channel. It is not available in this version, and this page does not ask you to submit or package anything.
