Who we are

These terms are a plain-English draft for EPDF, a PDF suite sold from the United Kingdom. The operator's legal name, company number and service address will appear at checkout and on invoices when we take payment. Until then this page is the intended bargain, not a back-dated contract.

By buying or using a paid licence you agree to these terms and to the licence that matches your plan. If you do not agree, do not pay and do not register a device.

The thing we sell

We sell a licence to use EPDF software. We do not sell the PDF files you open with it. Those remain yours. We do not sell generative AI, a cloud drive, or a legally-binding electronic signature service.

The web app is first. You can install EPDF on Windows from Microsoft Edge or Chrome; that is not a native Windows executable and not a Microsoft Store listing. Chrome and Edge extensions can be loaded unpacked from the repo. Mobile store billing is unspecified. A page marked coming soon is not a download, and you should not pay as if it were.

Plans

Individuals may buy a lifetime core licence, or pay £1 a month. Enterprise and Education buy seats for the same core suite, with a cheaper pack when one hundred seats are taken together.

Lifetime is access to the core EPDF product, including later core majors. It is not a promise of unlimited hosted or per-use services such as generative AI, substantial cloud storage, or high-volume server jobs. Those may be sold separately.

A monthly individual always receives the latest major while the subscription is paid. If you cancel, you return to the free watermarked tier when the paid period ends.

Each user may register three devices. Organisation seats are assigned to named users by the buyer. Reclaiming a seat frees it for someone else; it does not multiply the device allowance on the old user.

Money and VAT

Prices on the site are in pounds sterling. At checkout we will state whether the amount is inclusive or exclusive of VAT. If we get that statement wrong, the checkout record wins and we will correct the invoice.

Monthly billing continues until you cancel. Cancel is meant to be easy. We will not hide it behind a telephone number.

Acceptable use

Do not break the licence to share a single seat across a department. Do not attack the licence service. Do not use EPDF to commit a crime. Do not upload material you have no right to process if you later opt in to convert or OCR.

We may suspend a licence that is clearly being abused. We will say so, and we will not do it to dodge a refund you are owed.

Our limits

Software fails. We will fix defects in v1 that we can reproduce. We do not promise that existing-text edit, redaction, OCR or Office convert will match Adobe, and we do not promise they will ship on a date printed here.

Nothing in these drafts takes away rights you cannot contract out of under UK law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015 for individuals buying as consumers.

Subject to those rights, we are not liable for lost business, lost data you did not keep a copy of, or indirect loss. Our liability for a paid licence is capped at the amount you paid us for that licence in the twelve months before the claim.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the UK, you also keep any mandatory protections of the place you live.
